Like many Kiwis, we are really aware of our surroundings.
We occupy a small place in a big world so we often tend to look outward, worrying more about what others are doing in the
global environment than what we are doing here at home. We look on at their actions, sometimes in awe and sometimes in disappointment.
Perhaps it’s time we focused our
busy eyes on ourselves?
We all have ways of helping and making a difference to New Zealand’s social and economic
health.
We just have to look for them…
It’s vital that we support, nurture and encourage the New Zealand talent that surrounds us, whether it’s
in art, fashion design, sport, manufacturing or agriculture. Local farmers’ markets are springing up everywhere –
make the most of them! If we can support the farmers’ markets, we support less importing of produce
and we reduce the carbon miles our country collectively racks up in the name of buying ‘cheap, quick and easy’.
And critically, we feed our own New Zealand economy while we’re feeding our bodies healthy, locally-grown produce.
New Zealand is bubbling with exceptional
artistic talent. At Buckton & Day, we are all about bringing that talent to the surface. Buckton & Day have stuck
a peg in the ground and decided to try and make a difference to our depleting manufacturing industry by offering exceptional
ranges that are designed and made in New Zealand, by New Zealand talent.
We invite you to share our vision. Even if you change one buying decision a
day to ‘New Zealand made’ you’ll make a difference. Put us all together, and what a difference we could
make!
